Beyond Form: The Choice of Materials

This is where the magic of on-demand manufacturing comes in. You don't just choose an object; you choose its texture and how it interacts with light. For Modern Machine designs, we've selected four families of high-performance materials.

1. Responsible Commitment: Francofil

As mentioned during our previous collaboration , we use bioplastics loaded with co-products (Scallops, Coffee, Wheat, Slate) to give a natural, matte and textured look to vases and accessories.

2. Absolute Color: PETG

3. High Technology: ASA-CF (Carbon Fiber)

Looking for a chic and ultra-premium industrial look? The ASA-CF is for you.

This filament is reinforced with carbon fiber . The visual result is stunning: a deep matte black finish that absorbs light and completely hides the printing layers. It's an extremely UV and impact resistant material, perfect for timeless pieces with a strong character.

4. The Play of Light: Translucent Polycarbonate (PC)

For our Table Lamp and Pendant Lamp collections, the choice of material transforms the object, when unlit, into a luminous sculpture once illuminated. We use Bambu Lab's PC material in two finishes:

• Translucent PC (Clear): It diffuses light in a crystalline way, almost like frosted glass. Ideal for powerful and pure lighting.
• Translucent Black PC: Mysterious and elegant. When turned off, it seems It is a solid and opaque metal sculpture. When lit, it lets through a soft and warm light, revealing the complex internal structure (the famous "infill") of the 3D printed object.
